Obama/The Wire

I came across this old article about a week ago and passed it around to a couple of my comrades who too enjoy HBO's (former show) The Wire. Apparently it is a favorite of our New President, and Casey Gane-McCalla over at the Huffington Post wrote an interesting (unfortunately only to those who know the show) article detailing the lessons Obama could have taken from the show. Because this post is probably only interesting to the two people I already shared the article with, I have included some beautiful images (primarily) of my favorite characters from the show.

Needless to say, I highly recommend you rent the first season, pay close attention, and understand why it is one of the greatest television shows in recent history.

Boo

This is an alright poster for a pretty bad movie. It was sorta pretty, and had a couple decent scenes, but overall, I was pretty underwhelmed. It just tried sooo hard. Sorta seemed like some smug sophomore film student made it, I wouldn't waste my time with this movie, or the Biggie movie...

In My Room

In the spirit of Katering Fleshstad and Killy "I'm" Abeln I would like to share my bedroom with you. I recently cleaned/unpacked from our move upstairs about 6 months ago.

Welcome.

My portfolio website is done, and live.

I welcome any & all feedback.

I would also like to thank web-genius Liz Plahn, who was an invaluable asset to this project. It should also be noted that when she stops tip-toeing around minor tweaks to an already fantastic website, she too will have an updated web-presence.

Upper Case/Draft 01

This is a mono-spaced typeface whose similar outline / characteristics allows for (what I hope to be) interesting combinations and play via kerning and leading.

The first phase of this as-yet-to-be-named typeface is done. These are vectors, not yet type-able and not as refined as I'd like them to be/as they will be. This has been quite the learning process. If I can get these usable shortly after school starts (just this weight, and just the uppercase) I'll be satisfied with this as a winter-break project. I feel like I might have as much time left (refining & tweaking) as I have already spent constructing.

Did You Know 3.0

This is a couple of months old at this point, but given as we have just entered a New Year, (and I don't recall seeing this on any of your blogs, sorry if it was) I deemed it an appropriate (and interesting) thing to share. The update to the Shift Happens series:

Goodbye Horses

This is everything I made last semester.

These are semi-close ups, click image to enlarge.

This post will be moot by the beginning of the Spring semester, as better images will all be available on my website!
